When I allocate time to someone, it represents a significant financial opportunity lost, because at that time in my life I did not yet make passive income. It quite literally cost money to SPEND time with them. If a partner cannot replenish that investment, I would rather focus on my own success. I cannot afford to bear the weight of someone who does not contribute to the relationship.
